We find that as Buzz Rickson’s is made to an original spec, the brand is small compared to modern fits; therefore we advise customers to try at least a size larger than their standard size. We recommend that you contact our stores so our helpful retail teams can offer advice and give exact sizing information before you purchase.

  • This special L-2B is released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of BUZZ RICKSON'S, a military brand that started in 1993. The squadron patch on the chest for this commemorative model is the 18th Fighter Bomber Wing emblem. During the Korean War, equipped with F-51 Mustangs, it deployed to Ashiya, Hyogo Prefecture, as an occupation force. After the armistice, it was stationed at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa. The embroidery on the back of the jacket was created based on the assumption that a soldier belonging to the same unit brought his jacket to an embroidery store when he was stationed in Okinawa and had it specially ordered. The three-dimensional embroidery, which is woven by "horizontal waving embroidery" using the same outstanding technique as that used for Sukajan (Souvenir Jacket), has a unique beauty that is unmatched by any other embroidery. In the 1950s, the exchange rate was 360 yen to the dollar, and soldiers stationed in Japan were able to have their jackets embroidered at a very low cost, resulting in many attractive jackets with such unique customization. The embroidery of the eagle, which symbolizes the U.S. and the U.S. Air Force, the patch on the left chest, and the lining are all in the brand's blue color, making the jacket a gorgeous commemorative model.
