This Type N-1 jacket made of cotton satin is reproduced by "Buzz Rickson's" based on vintage jackets. The N-1 Deck Jacket was a cold-weather jacket worn by U.S. Navy deck crews from the mid-1940s to the 1950s. It featured a lining made of warm alpaca wool pile. While the typical N-1 jacket used a heavy twill fabric known as jungle cloth, this particular version was made of a rare cotton back-satin fabric. The back satin N-1, compared to the wind-resistant jungle cloth, offered lightweight flexibility and excellent mobility. The N-1's cuffs feature built-in ribs that protect the ribs from friction and ensure cold protection. The cuffs were also reinforced with corduroy for added durability and a comfortable feel, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail in this delicate N-1 jacket.
