Inspired by designs from the archive, the Reissues collection reinterprets original pieces with directional styling. The graphic Tee may be a humble piece, but its relevance stretches back decades. During the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, printed graphics were bolder and brighter than ever - a sign of the times as multi-coloured sportswear took pride of place on the European tennis circuit – a long way from the strict whites of Wimbledon. For this piece, Fred Perry delve into their archive and revive an original mosaic print, which was hand-drawn in 1989. An abstract take on their signature branding, the design takes influence from the origins of the Laurel Wreath, which was worn as a crown by the athletic Greek God, Apollo.
