US Marine Corps Herringbone Shorts.
This is the modified version as shorts of the herringbone twill utility pants that the US Marine Corps adopted in 1944. The large hip pocket and thigh pockets have a gusset for excellent storage capacity. The front is a button-fly and the placket has a wide gas flap to prevent gas from entering, and the waist eyelets are a detail for hooking hook-type suspenders.
